Eight Essential Camping Gears

Experienced campers are already very much familiar with the gears they have to take along with them. But for first time campers, it can be some sort of a dilemma. Remember that camping is not all about being comfortable, so you cannot simply expect to bring everything with you. So here's a list of the basic camping gear you should bring along.

1. Tent. Do not ever forget this. Keep in mind that at the camp site there are no hotels you can sleep the night in. What you have is an open space that you share with other beings like animals and insects. The tent will serve as your room and personal space. With a tent, you can keep yourself from insect bites and other elements like strong winds, dust and rain. Along with the tent do not also forget the other parts like the poles, stake, rainfly and groundsheet. Most of the time, tents are packed along with the rest of the parts so before you leave, make sure to check if it is complete.

2. First Aid Kit. You will never know what will happen while you are trekking to your campsite or while you are at your campsite. It is always best to have a first aid kit in case something comes up. Also, include in your first aid kit medications like aspirin, paracetamol and pain relievers. So before you leave, also check if you have everything you need in your first aid kit. Remember that having a first aid kit can be a lifesaver.

3. Flashlight. Your camp site may not have electricity so a flash light is of importance. Always have a flash light near so in cases when you need it you can easily grab it. A flash light is also important because it can illuminate the path you are taking especially if it is already dark. It will also help you locate items that get lost in the dark.

4. Sleeping Bag. The night in the outdoors can be really cold so you might as well snuggle deep into your sleeping bag. This is another camping gear you shouldn't leave without. Sleeping bags will serve as your bed in the outdoors. You don't have worry about buying a sleeping bag because it is widely available in the market. All you have to do is to know which type of sleeping bag you will be comfortable in.

5. Utility Knife. Have this in your pocket because this can surely come in handy. You will never know when you will have to cut or slice something so a trusty utility knife close at hand will surely do the trick.

6. Food. When you go camping, you also have to eat so make sure that you have enough supply of food in your backpack. Most campers would prefer to bring canned and ready to eat food with them while others would opt to do some cooking outdoors. Either way, you must make sure that the food you take along doesn't spoil easily and can be stored without a refrigerator.

7. Cooler. If you can simply drive to your campsite, then you might want to bring a huge cooler with you. We all know how some campers love to cook outdoors and that some of the ingredients can spoil if not stored in a cool place. So bringing a cooler will surely help you with that. In addition, the cooler can also be used as storage space for beverages.

8. Water. You will surely need to bring this along because not all camp sites have potable water sources. During camping, you will have to drink water plus you also need water when you are cooking. So bring along enough water supply.
