Some Things You Should Not Forget To Bring When You Are Out Camping

Camping has always been one of the best pastimes people have with their family, relatives and friends. It is one of the best ways of having an adventure. You can have it in the woods, up in the mountains or by the beach. You can look at the stars or have one of those trails through nature. Most people go camping, aside from the fun and adventure, to just have some place to rest.

People associate camping with those scouts who are able to survive with nothing but nature and skills at their side. But for many, you have to remember to pack up essential things to be safe out there. You never know what surprises nature holds in the daylight or in the dark.

1) Do not forgot to bring a map and a compass or better yet, a GPS.

It is a big world out there, and no one has every road turn stored up in memory. Another thing is that not everybody is an expert on star navigation. A map of the place you are planning to camp in would be really useful. No one wants to get lost, whether it is in daylight or night time. If you have a map at hand, a compass would be an excellent addition to your trip.

A compass tells you which way you are going. A map can't tell you which really is north, south, east or west; that is the compass' job. But if you want to make things a whole lot easier, a Global Positioning System (GPS) is a must have. This directly tells you where you are on the globe. Just make sure you know how to use it or you would just end up lost instead.

2) A match or a lighter

Well, if you're a blue-blood camper you would not need this. You just have to find rocks and allow the laws of science to work at your side. With much rubbing and friction between your rocks, expect to create fire at ease. But if you want to skip the work, better bring some match sticks or a lighter along. These are not heavy at all so these won't take much of your bag space. Remember, you need the fire for lots of reasons, but most importantly, this is essential for warmth and cooking.

3) A sleeping bag

No one can go on an adventure without a good night's sleep. And if you want comfort, bring along a sleeping bag. This may not be like your soft and comfortable bed at home, but we can't expect you to be bringing that bed with you, do we?

4) Water and Food

Water is not easy to find, especially the potable ones. You can't risk having neither dehydration nor amoebiasis on your trip; that will be a real drag. Bringing several bottles of water would really matter. Don't worry about bringing the weight of the water along rather than regretting not bringing it.

How about the food? Food is something we all need, whether we are camping or not. In camping, you could always look for other food sources but it wouldn't hurt to be prepared because we never know what happens out there.
