Kitchen Tools For A Camper

There is much to be considered when going camping. Unlike going on vacation when you usually stay at a luxurious hotel that offers you the best room amenities there is, going camping means you will need to be out of doors, no fluffy beds and definitely no room service available.

As you will be toughing it out when you go camping, the first thing that people should do is to make a checklist of the things that they would bring to camp to make sure that they have everything they need for their trip al fresco and away from the nearest civilization. The first few things that usually go on that list are the tent, the sleeping bags, the map, the compass, the first aid kit and a few extra pairs of clothes.

Aside from this, there is but one set of camping gear that parents who are camping with their children should not forget about and these are food and the tools to make them. Food and water are an absolute necessity when going camping. You will need sufficient nourishment to get you through a hot day of hiking and a lot of camping activities.

Again, you cannot just call for take out food and expect a delivery man to knock on your tent while holding your order of thin crust pizza with extra toppings. Popular foods to bring in during camping are cereals, crackers, cans of beans, some noodles and spices. In a cold night at camp, a good cup of noodle soup can revive tired and weary campers. And in order to make delicious soup, these following tools should not be forgotten.

* A kettle. At one point or another, you would want to drink something hot during your trip out of doors. Perhaps a cup of coffee to perk you up, milk for the children to give them that good night's sleep, or maybe some tea. Or you have used up all of your drinking water and would need to sanitize the water you got from the lake so it can be potable. What you will need is a good kettle. Your kettle need not be big. A medium sized one is sufficient to carry out all the things you would need it for brewing coffee or boiling water and it would not be that bulky to carry around.

* The multi purpose can opener. So you bought with you a can of beans. You are all ready to cook it in but found out you have no way of opening it. What you forgot to include in your list? A can opener. There are a number of multi purpose can openers available in the market today that can function more than just opening cans and it can have a knife or a pair of scissors integrated into it which you can use for all other purposes.

* Utensils and glasses. You will need plates to eat food from and glasses to drink water from. Do not forget to at least bring two or three of these so you may be able to eat your meals more conveniently. You may want to bring small plastic containers that can serve as your plate and can be used to store leftover food in. That would be smart.
